NPNoticePayCheck

Methodology

How the NoticePayCheck calculator estimates last working day, notice period end date, payment in lieu, and unused leave payout.

General estimates only. Not legal advice. Always verify with HR, your contract, and official guidance.

What the calculator estimates

The calculator estimates a notice start date, notice period end date, last working day, worksheet daily rate, possible payment-in-lieu amounts when a clear payable-day basis is entered, unused annual leave or vacation payout, and total visible calculated components. It also shows assumptions, warnings, not-covered items, next steps, HR checklist, and official source cards.

Date assumptions

Notice starts the day after resignation by default unless the user selects same day. Days and weeks use calendar days. Months add calendar months. Public holidays are not adjusted in the MVP.

Salary and leave assumptions

Monthly salary converts to a worksheet daily rate by monthly salary x 12 / annual working days. Weekly salary divides by working days per week. Daily salary is used directly. Leave payout estimates multiply the daily rate by user-entered unused leave or vacation days. Payment in lieu is scenario-sensitive and is estimated only when the user enters a clear payable notice days basis. Regular salary during a served notice period is not treated as an additional payout in the total.

Why results may differ from HR

HR may use payroll calendars, statutory average wage rules, awards, enterprise agreements, collective agreements, company policy, contract clauses, deductions, tax, superannuation, CPF, benefits, or updated leave records. That is why every result shows source cards and a compact disclaimer.

Interpreting statuses

Not calculated means the calculator does not have enough information or the component is outside the selected scenario. Needs review means the source or rule is too uncertain for a confident worksheet result. Severance, redundancy, long service payment, unfair dismissal, and similar complex items are not calculated in the MVP.

Official Source Cards

These sources informed the page cautions and calculator assumptions. Always open the official guidance before relying on a final pay decision.
