Severance Pay
Severance Pay explained in plain English for employees comparing final pay, notice, payment in lieu, vacation, and severance terms.
Severance pay
A separate employment-end payment that may apply in some jurisdictions and circumstances, often tied to employer-initiated termination, service length, or business conditions.
What it is not: It is not the same as notice pay, payment in lieu of notice, vacation pay, or unused annual leave payout.
Example: Ontario distinguishes termination pay and severance pay; this MVP does not calculate either eligibility.
